For this first edition of an annual series offered by the Swarthmore Centennial Foundation, renowned landscape artist Robert Bohné offers a Swarthmore scene you will want to hang in your home or office and pass down to the next generation as a lasting reminder of your time in Swarthmore. Mr. Bohné chose a quintessential stretch of Park Avenue, prominently featuring the umbrellas and greenery of the parklets that were established in Summer 2020 to enable local restaurants to meet Covid-19 guidelines. Mr. Bohné's original painting, a plein air work, was painted in oil from the vantage point of the War Memorial and then refined in his studio over several months.
