We are now accepting applications for the 2025 Edmund Jones Scholarship!

Making Swarthmore a better place to live.
Founded in 1993 in celebration of Swarthmore’s first 100 years.
Our mission is to provide for the betterment of Swarthmore, the improvement of the community, its children, and its citizens now and in the future.
Current Initiatives
Little Crum Creek Park Restroom
A public restroom is an essential amenity that makes a community park more accessible and welcoming to everyone. Working with Swarthmore Borough and the Friends of Little Crum Creek Park, we are supporting the construction of a public restroom to improve the usability and accessibility of the park.
Myers Ave Transformation
Imagine a Myers Ave that is greener, safer for children, more welcoming for pedestrians, and more user-friendly for commuters. In the current phase of our community planning projects, we are funding development of the designs and schematics necessary for Swarthmore Borough to apply for grants to make this concept a reality.
Edmund Jones Scholarship
We award the Edmund Jones Scholarship to an outstanding high school senior who resides in Swarthmore. The winner is selected based on community service, extracurricular activities, and good academic standing.
Shine A Light Award
This award recognizes a person or organization who has made Swarthmore a more diverse, inclusive and equitable place to work, learn, do business, or live.

“I think we should all strive to leave the world a better place than we found it, and I firmly believe that the Swarthmore Centennial Foundation has been successful in doing just that.”
Kimber Smith (1931-2021)
